Why I Love Nature Camp

I cherish my time at camp and the unusual occurrences that happen there. Nature Camp is part of me. It has shaped who I am. I learned how to gain new relationships and maintain friendships.

Nature Camp is about community. When I think of the term “community,” I don't only think about being in the company of others. I find a deeper meaning in it. Community means helping others out. If someone is behind, you help them up and bring them forward.

Nature Camps' slogan is, “There is always a place in the Circle.” This means that everyone is welcome. A usual circle is closed off, but this one has a notch in it. It is a symbolization that camp is open to everyone and their perspectives on life.

Many don't get to learn about nature. Here, we are able to gain knowledge on life and humanity. We observe patterns in the world that are normally taken for granted. Nature camp was founded to give everyone comfort and learn from each other. Everyone has something to add that makes camp what it is today.

A special part of this place is the knowledge we gain about the natural sciences. Through a person's eight years of camp, they are able to major in the many classes that are offered. Once a camper, always a camper.
