Vacation to the Outer Banks 2023

Almost every summer goes the same way. I visit Virginia, and North Carolina, work, and hang out. I would not appreciate my time off if it were not for the people I am with and the things I do each summer. Until Covid hit America, my family and I did an annual Beach trip to North Carolina. That was almost four years ago. I was longing to see my family and go on vacation. This year I was able to.

Three days after school got out, I was on the plane. We arrived in North Carolina right away. When we got there, the sky was red with an orange sun. Canada’s fire smoke was spreading to America. We were forced to wear masks and stay inside.

After a few days, the smoke had dissipated. We went to a fish market and had luxurious dinners. My parents taught me how to make cocktails for the family. We swam in the ocean and played outside. My one-year-old brother was especially cute because he had never gone into open water before.

On our last day at the beach, I decided to go fishing. Fishing lets me enjoy the sound of water and the peacefulness of a place. Around the time I was being called in for dinner, I noticed a storm cloud rolling onto land. I decided to take a video of how quickly the cloud was coming toward me. My parents reported seeing waterspouts on the horizon, and I quickly had to go inside. It was a fun wrap-up for that vacation.
